DARNLEYCHURCH

Our History
The seeds for Darnley Church began shortly after Darnley Primary School opened in 1975, and the head teacher led the drive for a church for the community. The United Free Church began holding services in the school in October 1976 and opened its own church building in January 1981.
Since that time many of the original houses have been demolished and the area has grown extensively and still continues to grow with new housing developments.
Through all the changes and the ups and downs, Darnley Church has continued to seek to serve the local community and bear witness to Christ’s love and salvation.
A full history of Darnley church has been written by the Colin Brown (minister from 1979 – 2020), and copies are available in the church library.
